Managing Director Christian Gaus represents the company Gaus & Knödler Architects in professional committees. Christian Gaus is also active in the field of academic education and judging panels.
The Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects (AKBW) represents the interests of architects vis-à-vis politics, the general public and media. It currently represents around 24,600 members. For building owners and customers, the Chamber is also the supervisory authority at the same time. It guarantees the quality and seriousness of its registered members and thus indirectly for the entire profession of architects and urban planners.
Christian Gaus is active in various committees of the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects. He was elected to the Budget Audit Committee at the end of 2014 and has been Chairman of the Chamber’s regional group in Göppingen since mid-2010. Christian is also involved in professional committees, for example in the AKBW “Sustainable Building” working group and in the “Climate | Energy | Sustainability” strategy group.
In April 2016, the Federal Chamber of Architects appointed Christian as a German delegate to the Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE) in Brussels. At ACE, Christian was a formal member of the “Energy, Sustainable Architecture / Urban Issues” working group. In addition to the main focus of his work on energy and sustainability, he is also responsible for the interlinking of European and national concerns of architects and urban planners.
As a member of the ACE, Christian is also a member of the “International Affairs” working group of the Federal Chamber of Architects in Berlin to ensure the necessary flow of information and exchange of views.
Christian successfully completed the seminar for expert judges of the Chamber of Architects of Baden-Württemberg. Since 2008 he has been involved in several selection and competition procedures. As a member of Göppingen’s JCI (among others, President of the local board in 2004 and 2005), he contributes the perspective of a freelance architect to the body representing young self-employed persons and executives.
